pressure on players in big clubs

the amount of pressure put on a star player for playing a quality team that is losing is great. Within the past few months Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his interest in no longer playing for Real Madrid. In some cases he has been caught on camera crying about it. Most people would say that it is the management and how they are treating him. Truth is i believe they cater to his every need.
 Now i am a huge real Madrid fan and would defend him and go down dying claiming hes better than messi, solely because he plays for my team. However, as much as i hate to say this since i am a die heart red sox fan, real Madrid can be compared to the Yankees. In similar ways they pay big money and expect big results.  Like their players if they do well statistically but still lose or don't have a championship it is unacceptable. For real Madrid fans, we expect to always have a trophy at the end of the season. For those of you football fans, you can compare the drama of being a real Madrid player to that of a Dallas cowboy or new york jet. Although Ronaldo has been producing the numbers that are expected of him the team has not been winning. Different from baseball, soccer is taken personally. The amount of pressure to be a real Madrid player is very high. Some players can handle the pressure and others cannot. Also for an ego like his, being second best isn't a choice.Theory I have why Ronaldo wants to go back to Man U, is one, he was very much adored there, and two in Spain he will always be considered second best. Not to put down any English league players, but with a high profile name as C.Ronaldo, he is bound to have the limelight when a player like messi isn't there to overshadow him. I hope he doesn't leave my beloved team because of the player he is, but if we don't have some kind of trophy this year it will be a year of disappointment which can cause a lot of dramatics.
